Photographing a wedding in Canmore for a local couple is something special and worth getting excited about. So, when I first met Dayle and she spoke of her passion for photography and her plans for a ceremony surrounded by the peaks of Kananaskis my heart just about skipped a beat. After years of envisioning her special day in amongst the mountains of her home town, her dreams finally came true.
Dayle and I spent the morning getting ready at their home in Canmore, while Danny and the boys were getting ready at a nearby hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them better as I found myself capturing all the little details of their home that expressed their love for one another.
Their first look was at the well known Engine Bridge, with close friends and family nearby watching Danny’s heartfelt reaction. The two wanted as many touches of “home” in their photos. We ventured onwards to Kananaskis for some more intimate photos next to the blue of the Spray Lakes Reservoir before heading out towards Seebee for their ceremony.
The two held a beautiful summer ceremony with a beautiful view of Mount Yamnuska, followed by a reception full of DIY touches at Owl Group Campground’s event hall. It was a no-muss no-fuss affair that truly made for a beautiful and easy wedding day.
