Some moments feel like they’re straight out of a movie, and Joseph & Kerry’s proposal at Lake Louise was exactly that. It was July—one of the hottest days of the year—but that didn’t stop this incredible couple from sharing an unforgettable moment in one of the most breathtaking places on earth.
Joseph had it all planned out. As he and Kerry walked along the shoreline, I kept a careful eye on them, waiting for the perfect moment. With the towering Fairview Mountain in the background and the iconic turquoise waters shimmering under the summer sun, Joseph led Kerry to a quiet spot just a little further along. The setting was absolute perfection.

Then, the moment arrived. Joseph got down on one knee, and in that instant, time seemed to stand still. Kerry’s reaction was everything—surprise, joy, and overwhelming love all at once. There’s something so magical about capturing the raw emotion of a proposal, and this one was nothing short of beautiful.

After the big “yes,” we continued with a short engagement session to soak in the excitement. Even though they’re from Nashville and no strangers to the heat, the warm summer air was enough to tempt us all into cooling off a little. I convinced them to kick off their shoes and dip their feet into the refreshing glacial waters. Because, really—when you’re at Lake Louise on a scorching day, how could you not?
The result? Stunning, joy-filled images that truly encapsulate who Joseph & Kerry are as a couple: adventurous, fun-loving, and deeply in love. Their proposal was a reminder of why I love what I do—freezing these once-in-a-lifetime moments into photographs that will be cherished forever.
