Canmore's Newest Wedding VENUE: The Vista

Some weddings just have a certain energy to them from the moment you arrive, and Sophie and Henry’s wedding was one of those days.

If you haven’t seen The Vista yet, it’s one of Canmore’s newest wedding venues and it’s easy to understand why it’s quickly becoming a favourite. The rooftop ceremony space is the star of the show, giving couples and guests uninterrupted mountain views in every direction. Inside, huge windows keep those views front and centre all day long, while the team at Cornerstone Weddings handles everything so couples can actually enjoy their wedding instead of worrying about logistics.

Sophie fully committed to a spring-inspired colour palette and I absolutely loved it. Bright florals, colourful bridesmaid dresses, and thoughtful details everywhere made the entire day feel fresh and vibrant. It was the perfect reminder that mountain weddings don’t always have to be neutral tones and greenery.One of my favourite design elements was the incredible floral installation from Floral Walls YYC. It completely transformed the reception space and became an instant gathering spot for guests. Add in a champagne tower and you’ve got a pretty solid recipe for a celebration.

After a beautiful rooftop ceremony and an evening filled with amazing food, heartfelt speeches, and plenty of laughter, we slipped away for a few minutes at sunset. One of the perks of getting married at The Vista is having that rooftop just steps away. We headed back upstairs as the light softened over the mountains and captured some of my favourite portraits from the entire day.

Then it was time to party.And when I say party, I mean party.
The dance floor was packed from the moment it opened. Party wands appeared, drinks were flowing, and at some point the entire room joined a conga line that wound its way through the reception. It was chaotic in the best possible way and exactly the kind of ending every wedding photographer hopes for.

Sophie and Henry created a wedding that felt completely like them—fun, welcoming, colourful, and full of great people. It was one of those days where nobody wanted the night to end.
